DIRECTORATE OF CIVIL RIGHTS ENFORCEMENT

MESSAGE OF THE DGP DCRE FOR THE PUBLIC

A creation of DCRE Website is an important achievement of this Unit. By creating the DCRE Website we are open to inspection, introspection and interaction with the general public.

It is needless to mention here that the DCRE protects the interact of SCs/STs in the State. Whenever there is an whenever there is an incident of harassment or atrocity committed against SCs/STs, they approach local police for redressing their grievances. Whenever there is inaction and failure on the part of local police to take prompt action on the complaints of the members of SCs/STs they prefer to approach DCRE and DCRE in turn conducts the enquiries and direct the local police to take action.

The major thrust on the DCRE is to enquire into the false caste certificates obtained  by some non-SCs and STs claiming that they belong to SCs & STs. As on today  cases of false caste certificates have been investigated by the DCRE and some more enquirie pertaining to false caste certificate are under progress.
